A little bit about me:
I was born
in a small town by the name of Washington, in North Carolina in 1973. My life
growing up was nothing spectacular or impressive. My father passed away when I
was five years old, but other than that there were not a lot of instances of
major emotional trauma. I have never suffered from any major physical
disabilities or debilitating accidents.
Growing up,
I was always fairly active between water skiing, several years as a
skateboarder from about the age of 14 to 19 years old and a small stint when I was into body building somewhere in there as well.
Then, I got married at the age of 19 and began to settle down.
This included getting lazy regarding my health and exercise life. The weight
came on slowly. I did not even begin noticing or paying attention until I was
about 26 years old.
My first
marriage ended after 3 years. Between the ages of 22 and 26 I did a lot of
damage to my body through drinking and eating very poorly. In addition, an
early in life habit I had taken up, smoking, just increased as I aged.
As I
continued going through life I just never really took that leap to turn my life
around in the sense of physical health. I thought about it a lot. It bugged me
how much weight I had put on and how unhealthy I had become. I would not really
confront it and actually do something about it. I just kept letting it slide. I
did for a short period of about one month get serious enough to lose about 10
pounds. However, I gave up and quickly put the weight back on.
Now, here I am at 38 years of age, soon to be 39 and I am about 80 pounds overweight and I feel tired most of the time and sluggish.
I was never what you would call a “go getter” by any stretch of the imagination. I was more
relaxed and to be honest- lazy.
I tell you
all the above just to demonstrate that an average guy with an average life can
really make a huge change in his life and turn things around.
I hope you
enjoy my words and can get something out of them that you can use in your life.
